As many as 356,000 Ohioans will lose health coverage under Trump spending law, new reports says
“Coverage losses will happen not through any fault of many, but because of the administrative challenges the new requirements impose ..."
"A third group that will be particularly hard hit are recipients between 50 and 64. An estimated 30% to 65% of them will lose coverage “mainly because they are less likely to be parents living with dependent children younger than age 13 and less likely to be automatically found to have satisfied the work requirement through employment,” the report said."

Hundreds submit comments opposing Ohio’s proposed Medicaid work requirements
“These changes are not only contradictory to the waiver’s stated goals, but cruel and insulting to the people who will be affected by them,” one person said in their submitted comments. “At best, this will make poor and disabled people poorer, and at worst it will kill people who no longer have access to life saving and preventative medical care.”

Ohioans brace for changes to Medicaid eligibility, work requirements
"Medicaid covers about a quarter of Ohioans and nearly 1 in 3 people in Cuyahoga County.
The state and federal program provides health insurance to low-income people, people with disabilities, older adults and pregnant women and children, as well as some noncitizens who meet eligibility requirements.
But starting Thursday, changes to the program will begin affecting who can qualify and stay enrolled.
On Oct. 1, federal rules will change eligibility for some immigrants who are lawfully living in the U.S. and enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, or CHIP."
