Who we are.

GROWL is an Ohio Political Action Committee (PAC) and stands for Grass Roots Women in Leadership.

GROWL grew out of Grass Roots Resistance (GRR), an organization that began in 2016 with a dozen Northeast Ohio women. GRR is now 450 members strong, all volunteers who actively participate in America's democratic process and play an influential role in Northeast Ohio politics.

GRR Members are volunteers, ordinary citizens, each with their own set of skills, who understand the constitutional call for democracy and who are concerned and want to protect the United States' distinct government of "of, by, and for the people".

GRR members represent more than twelve cities and areas of Ohio. Members vote in local and state elections. They participate in regional meetings, give testimony, inform neighbors about issues, introduce local candidates running for office, canvas door-to-door, write and mail postcards, attend political events, collect petition signatures, and much more.

Since its inception, GRR members have worked on numerous campaigns and local and statewide ballot initiatives. Members learned the need for financial support for new candidates competing for office.
GROWL was born as a separate entity for that end.

Ohio is a pivotal state in determining the future of the United States of America. Throughout American history, Ohio has significantly influenced the shape, values, and leadership of the United States. The GROWL PAC is dedicated to protecting those values and our democracy, and to supporting candidates who understand and share their views.

The GROWL PAC supports modern, progressive, pro-democracy candidates running for local offices, such as school boards and city councils, especially in Northeast Ohio, and additionally, regional and statewide candidates and initiatives that align with pro-democracy and progressive values.

GROWL focuses on leadership opportunities for women dedicated to integrity, equal rights, and justice for all Americans.

The GROWL PAC will work to return Ohio to a state with fair representation, representing all citizens. GROWL respects the vote of each person equally and supports those who seek democratic leadership as called for in our Constitution.

GROWL is supported by a network of seasoned professionals with expertise in messaging, communications, advertising, design, education, advocacy, and campaign organization.
